CORONAVIRUS: WASH, WATCH AND PRAY

CORONAVIRUS: WATCH, PRAY AND WASH

Oh beautiful busy country, Nigeria,

The country whose citizens hastily go about their affairs

‘No time to waste time’ they always say, one to another

A country whose roads are blocked daily with traffics hourly,

Popularly known for breeding tough men who can adapt in any part of the world and in any situation,

Till Coronavirus came through a man,

Suddenly!!!

Did you miss my last blog post, kindly read and learn

Hello dear,

Ha, my heart is heavy! According to The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) as at 9 pm yesterday, we had 20 new cases confirmed, we had 131 total confirmed cases and 2 deaths so far in the country. It’s overwhelming how the number increases daily.

Businesses are been shut, some states are totally locked down, right to freedom of movement and associations are now wrongs, permit me to say that even if the government offers it on a platter of gold , some people will stone the government for been so inhuman.

Panics here and there, strong tension like a naked live wire everywhere, pass anyone or discuss the issue ‘Corona Virus’, you will feel it. Two days ago, I was telling my friend that some people will die of high blood pressure if they are not careful and intentional of their thought after all the news they read or give themselves to .

Speaking of news, in the past couple of weeks, I have seen, read and watched how just one disease has changed and is changing the whole world and affecting many lives.

Many people have come into the realisation that there is nothing in this life. One minute some people  were happy planning their lives with so  much money in their account and the next minute they are hit with a virus that has no cure, virus that makes them go into self-isolation and death looming around to welcome whomever the grace of life doesn’t cover.  This reminds me of Psalm 103 vs 15

As for man, his days are like grass; As a flower of the field, so he flourishes. For the wind passes over it and it is no more, And its places remembers it no more.

Though we are been buried in this nationwide fear, as Christians, there is a lot we can do about it. Don’t keep quiet, pray, pray, pray (repetition is intentional) about the disease, pray for Nigeria, pray of Nigerians, pray for all countries affected by this pandemic.

Mordecai said this to Esther in Esther 4: 14

For if thou altogether holdest thy peace at this time, then shall there enlargement and deliverance arise to the Jews from another place; but thou and thy father's house shall be destroyed: and who knoweth whether thou art come to the kingdom for such a time as this?

So I say to you, If you altogether holdest thy peace (keep quiet) at this time because you think neither your family nor friends are affected, other people will pray but what will you then do if it befalls it?

Kindly pray and encourage the fearful to trust in God.

What is your face behind the phone? Hmm

Watch! I am certain God has a hand in this for Lamentations 3: 37

Who can command things to happen without the Lord’s permission?

I am certain this phase and plaque shall pass over.

Wash!

Be safety conscious.

Till we meet again, enjoy your compulsory holiday.

I pray for those who are infected, you are healed in Jesus name.

I leave you with sir John Pipers words

It matters little what we think about the coronavirus. But it matters forever what God thinks. He is not silent about what he thinks. Scarcely a page in the Bible is irrelevant for this crisis.
