THE POWER OF LOVE, NOT LOVE SONGS

Love songs can be really mushy,
Love songs can get one  all emotional,
Love songs can get one high like being are on drugs,
Love songs can give one some kind of catching cold symptoms,
No doubt, Love songs are beautiful.
Especially those love songs from the '80s and '90s
Have you felt the power of love songs in movies or even relationships?

Well,
The power of love is even greater. In fact, it is nothing compared to what is in love songs.  The kind of love I am talking about is not the type of relationship love. I mean The God's kind of love, the love we have been commanded to show to one another, THE SECOND GREATEST COMMANDMENT IN HISTORY, "..and the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbour as yourself.  All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments."  (Mattew 22:39). Jesus furthered gave this commandment again in  John 15:12-13 This is my commandment, That ye love one another, as I have loved you. Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.

This love has so much more power-I mean it has the ability to control spiritual and earthly things. It is as powerful as Spiritual gifts of healing the sick, raising the dead and making the blind see. When you love another person, you are already working in miracles. When you love,  You are healing the hurts, frustrations, you are preventing murder and even suicide. The power of love songs are just for a moment but the power of love is forever. Christ death on the Cross, his act of love is what is still saving us till date.

Sir Francis Bacon is attributed for saying knowledge is power, I agree, but I will like to add that love is more powerful. Where your knowledge will not take you to, love will take you there. 1st Corinthians 8:1 says knowledge puffs you up but love builds you.

Loving people can be really really really really really really (the repetition is deliberate) difficult. We may feel justified to say some people do not deserve our love but remember that while we were sinners, Christ died for us. 

Loving people may be frightening but remember that although Jesus knew Judas would betray him, he did not stop loving him.  Remember too that Perfect love casts out fear. 

Only until the love of God consumes you and drives you in all you do, you can never experience its full powers.  Paul admonished us to let what we do be done in love (1 Cor 16:14).

The power of love involves DEALINGS. This dealing may not be enjoyable but you will thank yourself later for the power that comes.

The power of love can change your destiny and that of your unborn children. Whoever thought that Tabitha of Jobba destiny was to die early? SERIOUSLY??? Bad people live longer, why then do a woman of good deeds and acts of love and who even took care of widows have to die early? Well, Scriptures did not say why. But it did say widows were weeping at death, two men went hurriedly in search of Peter, urging him to come fast fast. Was it the hunger for miracles or Peter's fine looks that inspired their actions?

No!!!

It was Tabitha acts of love while she was alive. The power of love cancelled death and brought life.
 

Ecc 11:1 says CAST YOUR BREAD UPON  MANY WATERS, FOR YOU WILL FIND IT AFTER MANY DAYS

This applies to love.

The power of love can save souls, it has the ability to bring men back to God, it makes men receive salvation gladly. It because we when love as Christ would, we are lifting up Christ and men will draw near on unto him. People are more secured where they are loved.



LOVE, LOVE, LOVE, LOVE AND LOVE...FIND GRACE TO LOVE AND LOVE AND LOVE.  

It is my prayer that you grow more love, never get weary or scared of loving and the power of love becomes life to you in Jesus name. AMEN!!!  

1Corithians Chapter13 tells us more on this power of love.
If I speak with human eloquence and angelic ecstasy but don’t love, I’m nothing but the creaking of a rusty gate.If I speak God’s Word with power, revealing all his mysteries and making everything plain as day, and if I have faith that says to a mountain, “Jump,” and it jumps, but I don’t love, I’m nothing.
If I give everything I own to the poor and even go to the stake to be burned as a martyr, but I don’t love, I’ve gotten nowhere. So, no matter what I say, what I believe, and what I do, I’m bankrupt without love.

Love never gives up.
Love cares more for others than for self.
Love doesn’t want what it doesn’t have.
Love doesn’t strut,
Doesn’t have a swelled head,
Doesn’t force itself on others,
Isn’t always “me first,”
Doesn’t fly off the handle,
Doesn’t keep score of the sins of others,
Doesn’t revel when others grovel,
Takes pleasure in the flowering of truth,
Puts up with anything,
Trusts God always,
Always looks for the best,
Never looks back,
But keeps going to the end.

Love never dies. Inspired speech will be over some day; praying in tongues will end; understanding will reach its limit. We know only a portion of the truth, and what we say about God is always incomplete. But when the Complete arrives, our incompletes will be canceled.

When I was an infant at my mother’s breast, I gurgled and cooed like any infant. When I grew up, I left those infant ways for good.
We don’t yet see things clearly. We’re squinting in a fog, peering through a mist. But it won’t be long before the weather clears and the sun shines bright! We’ll see it all then, see it all as clearly as God sees us, knowing him directly just as he knows us!
But for right now, until that completeness, we have three things to do to lead us toward that consummation: Trust steadily in God, hope unswervingly, love extravagantly. And the best of the three is love

 Note, the greatest, the best is LOVE (and we are encouraged to  love extravagantly)
