HOW TO DEAL WITH DISAPPOINTMENTS
HOW TO DEAL WITH DISAPPOINTMENTS
I took some time to observe one of my neighbours whom I admire; she's young beautiful, chubby, adorable, sweet and likes asking questions till the saliva in her mouth runs dry.
We share one weakness in common, that is; we dream too much. Hers is worse.
Have you come across those annoying children, you know those really annoying children that talk about their dreams a lot, with mouth running like an anus suffering from diarrhoea? Yeah, that's how she is.
Unlike Joseph, the dreamer, who sleeps and dreams my admirable neighbour is a daydreamer. She is always talking about her future occupation dreams. She dreams of taking the first position in the class. She dreams of buying helicopters for her mummy and daddy and then she travelling to Dubia this hour and landing in Turkey the next. She dreams of being the best......Nigeria has ever produced. She dreams of so so many things, not just about the future but about the current moment as well.

One big disadvantage is that she gets disappointed a lot. In fact, ehn…some days she will roll out all her disappointments in tears. She will cry it all out and I will offer her a shoulder to lean on. Yet she never stops dreaming.
Would you blame her?
Even as an adult, I feel that way too.
Whether you've envisioned it or planned it or even prepared for it, one thing we all know is that disappointments are annoying,

Disappointment is painful!!!
Even more, disappointments are depressing and killing.
We've all been victims of disappointments at different times in our lives.

In history, there was a story of a rich man. Chai!!! That man was freaking rich. He had houses, plots of lands and investment in different countries. He lived wealth, dressed wealth and smell of wealth.
There came a wedding in his family. His only son was getting married. Everyone was happy, the news went viral. It was the talk of the town.
The rich man sent invitation cards to selected family members and friends. He even sent the cards with the aso-Ebi (the wedding dress code).

The king stepped out of his room majestically. He walked with his chief servants to inspect all that was needed to make the wedding a success had been put in place. He danced slowly and turned around in his royal apparel. He loved the melodies of the long songs. He patiently anticipated the arrival of his guests. The groom and bride were almost already. He tapped his chief servants on his shoulders.
'Isaac, hurry, go and remind my guests. Tell them the wedding venue is set. My oxen and fattest calves have been slaughtered. Everything is ready. They should be fast. '
The servant, accompanied by ten others ran swiftly.

The chief servant returned after many hours panting.
'What took you so long?' The king asked.
'Where are the guests I asked you to invite? ' the king queried
'Where are the other servants?' The King pushed his arms.
The servant was overwhelmed with questions. He didn't know where to start. He didn't know how to tell the king that despite all his efforts in planning a grand wedding, his royal guests took it lightly.
'Your royal highness, the king of glory, may your kingdom continue to reign, all your guests refused to come'. The chief servant replied rubbing his head. He further told the king the many excuses the guests made. One went to his own farm, another to his merchandise, and the rest grabbed his servants, and treated them shamefully, and killed them.
The king was furious!
He had never been disappointed to that extent in his life. He paused for a second and thought things through.
He came to the following conclusions;
1. He got those who disappointed Him killed.
2. He opened the wedding gates to all
3. He sent town criers around the town with the wedding aso-Ebi for those who may be interested in attending the wedding.
4. No asoebi is equal to a death sentence.
Guess what!
The wedding was a blast!
So when faced with disappointments, think through and follow these recommended steps;
1. Frustration, anger, hurt, whatever you feel, acknowledge it and take heart. Let go of your feelings.
2. Were your expectations realistic or simply out of planet Earth? Think through your expectations.
